Second Chances

Don’t you love that God is a God of second chances? Because some of the people who have had the greatest “God” experiences have also had the most ugly dark screw ups in their lives too- King David the adulterer, Rahab the prositute, Moses the murderer- but God saw something great in them and he saw beyond their mistakes and He saw something beautiful, something that he could work with and He sees that in you and me too. I’m so glad that God is a God of second and third and fourth chances aren’t you? I’m so glad he’s called us out of darkness and into the light! I’m so glad he saw past my ugly and saw something beautiful. No matter what you’ve done, no matter what you’re going through today God still finds you worth the ultimate sacrifice. Aren’t you thankful for the cross?

Be Still

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God…” (Psalm 46:10 NIV)We all have moments where things get heavy, the waves of life get rough. This week has been one of those for me. We are having to address some medical issues that are still causing Tasia some issues and it makes for some rough days sometimes. But every morning I feel like God whispers to my heart “Be still and know that I am God” and it instantly soothes me and reminds me that I can rest and I can breath and let him handle all things because he is in control, not me. It’s a perfect anxiety eliminator to meditate on that scripture and it’s been on my heart and on my lips because he sent his word to heal us.

And my little girl has come through so much- God has brought her through the big battle and we are still gonna make it through this hiccup as well. Because…The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5 NIV)

So whatever is troubling your heart today, whatever is overwhelming you or stressing you out, just repeat quietly and slowly to yourself as many times as you need, “Be still and know that he is God.” And then know and believe that he is in control and will take care of you.

God bless friends!

I’ve been playing this song on the guitar and listening to it on repeat all week. It’s perfectly soothing to my soul.

God recently checked my heart about what I do as the very first thing in the morning. He wants the first fruits of everything in our lives including and especially our days. If the first thing we do is grab our phones and check Facebook, we can’t be surprised to have a day that looks hectic – kind of like a Facebook feed. But if we take some time to sit down with our Heavenly Father and talk to him and worship him then he will take what was going to be crazy and hectic and bless it and make it holy.

Now thank God for his mercy because His grace is sufficient to cover our need to grab a cup of caffein before we sit down to His word. Haha!

For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. (Romans 11:16 NKJV)

It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love IN THE MORNING and your faithfulness at night, (Psalm 92:1, 2 NIV)

It came in prayer

Like the mighty rain falls down, so will the glory of God if His people will wake up. It’s time for the slumber to end and it’s time for us to seek His face daily.

God is whispering to you, he’s calling to you – it’s time….
Some of you have been sensing the pull.  Some of you have been hearing the whisper in your spirit that it’s time to dig into His word and seek his face because He is coming very, very soon!

And his GLORY is going to rain down like FIRE from the heavens to those who are truly and earnestly seeking him daily.

His whisper is as thunderous as a symphony singing my name, beckoning me to sit at his feet and fill me with His wisdom so that He can empty my head of all the clatter the world tends to fill it with.  And I wonder if I could just

just stop… and listen…

would I finally see and hear what I’ve been longly to know.  Would I hear what it is that I am supposed to do with my life and what my hearts calling is?  Does it take me finally slowly down long enough to hear Him?  Does it take me shutting off the world and even saying no to helping others for even 30 minutes to hear the whispers of my Father to my heart? I guess that would be worth it wouldn’t it? Why do I have such a hard time  slowing down? Why is it so hard to discipline myself to do just this one simple task?
